About Us

About CampGearAdvice

Honest, data-driven reviews for ultralight backpackers who want to pack smarter and cook better on the trail.

Our Story

Why We Built This Site

Most gear review sites either test a handful of products themselves — which takes enormous time and budget — or they just rehash manufacturer marketing copy.

We took a different approach. Instead of pretending to personally test every stove on a mountain, we systematically analyze hundreds of real user reviews from verified purchasers, cross-reference manufacturer specs, and mine real trail reports from hiking communities.

The result? Reviews that reflect how gear actually performs in the real world — across dozens of different conditions, trip types, and user skill levels.

We cover one niche deeply: ultralight camp cooking & kitchen gear. Everything you need to eat and drink well on the trail without carrying unnecessary weight.

📊

Data Over Opinion

Every claim is backed by data from real users. We analyze review patterns, not just individual opinions. If 200 backpackers say a stove struggles in wind, that’s a finding — not anecdote.
